THIS PAGE IS A BLOG OF SIGNIFICANT CAMPAIGN EVENTS We Won the Primary! We won the August 2, 2011 primary! I received about 66% of the votes, almost a 2 to 1 margin over the challenger. I want to thank all my supporters that worked on my campaign and all the Ward Five citizens that voted for me. This is a clear message that the voters approve of my opposition to the large development projects at the expense of their services. They are not happy that the city proposes to spend millions to build a parking structure to benefit the University while cutting their police and fire protection.

I am honored to have the endorsement of women's rights pioneer Jean Ledwith King. Jean King has never been afraid to fight to get government to do the right thing. Just two years after graduating form law school, Jean successfully took on the University of Michigan for discriminating against women. She also successfully fought to get the national Democratic party to require equal numbers of male and female delegates. Jean is a hero to women athletes for her Title IX work in getting them equal access to athletic opportunities in high school and college. Jean's advocacy does not stop with civil rights. For many years, she was a member of the Washtenaw County Historic Commission where she helped preserve this historic Delhi bridge and Dexter's Gordon Hall. She has also served on the Ann Arbor District Library Board and the Scio Township Board of Trustees. Her many awards include admission to the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame, the State Bar of Michigan Champion of Justice award and in March 2011 having the Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan renamed in her honor.
Lynn Rivers Endorsement I am proud to have the endorsement of former Congresswoman Lynn Rivers, who was a true champion for her constituents. Mike Anglin has all the attributes I like to see in an elected official: honesty, persistence, and common sense . Join me in re-electing Mike on August 2 - Lynn Rivers. Former member U. S.
