Mike is a tireless champion of our parks and neighborhoods. He is a true voice in making sure the city keeps its promise to maintain parks funding and prevent raiding of its mileages. He works for ALL of us in the city - James D´Amour, Vice-Chair, Sierra Club Huron Valley Group.
I have had the opportunity to talk to Mike and work with him on our mutual concerns and interests. Mike is a good listener, and one comes away with the feeling that he takes what his constituents say to heart, and then makes his decisions accordingly. The City of Ann Arbor has a good advocate in Mike Anglin. - Ann Schriber
When other council members sold out, Mike Anglin stood strong and steadfast. He voted against two development projects that would have destroyed landmark 19th century homes on S. 5th Ave that give character and charm to this near downtown neighborhood. If you like the way the cash box apartment buildings look amid the charming older homes, or if you want Ann Arbor to lose the qualities that have attracted the film industry to our city, then vote for the other guy. If you want a council member who cares about the citizens, then vote for Mike Anglin. He has a 100% voting record on matters that concern quality of life in Ann Arbor, the walkability of our neighborhoods, the environment, and not wasting tax payers money on undesirable projects like the convention center. He is a voice of integrity and responsibility on City Council; as a citizen of the 5th ward, I give him my highest endorsement. - Beverly Strassmann
I support Mike Anglin for City Council As a Council member, Mike has worked to keep Ann Arbor a vital magnet city, by supporting both reasonable development and parkland, by maintaining city services while opposing unnecessary and costly city financed construction in the City Hall addition and the underground parking structure on Fifth Avenue. Mike knows that at a time when city resources are strained, it is important to direct funding toward services that directly benefit the residents rather than expensive building projects that will be a financial burden for decades. As a member of the Parks Advisory Committee, he knows of the challenges and threats facing our parks, and he has worked effectively to counter them. He is committed to open space and opposes turning parkland over to commercial interests. He has always been an advocate of greater openness in City government. Mike Anglin has done a great job on the City Council and deserves your vote in August. - Robert Johnson, former Council member I am proud to be a supporter of Mike Anglin in his campaign for city council representative, Fifth Ward. Whenever I have contacted Mike regarding city issues he has always responded promptly and most importantly followed through. The latest situation involved Huron Hills Gplf Course/Park. Mike attended meetings, provided updated information and helped to provide a focus to our fight to maintain Huron Hills the successful golf course and beautiful park area that it is.
The fifth ward is most fortunate to have Mike as their representative on city council. A Councel member they can trust to do the right thing - not because it may be popular, but because it is right. - Linda Pedrick. A2P2 member, Ann Arbor Golf Association Board Member, Ann Arbor city resident
My husband and I support Mike Anglin because he has the courage to speak up and challenge proposals made to City Council that he and we, as his constituents in the 5th Ward, find problematic in terms of financing and servicing our needs as Ann Arbor citizens. It is not easy to be the one who calls out that the emperor has no clothes. Mike Anglin regularly consults with us, his constituents and is both honest and willing to ask the important questions. We need him on Ann Arbor's City Council. - Marcia Polenberg -Ramsay and Ted Ramsay Why do I support Mike Anglin for re-election? Because he cares about people, neighborhoods, the environment, the character of our town. He thinks independently and votes his conscience. Preservation of historic neighborhoods, human-scaled development in and near downtown, a plan for the "Library Lot" that serves the needs of the community--these are goals that Mike understands. He insists that citizens be welcomed to the decision-making process and their voices be heard. That means people like you and me.
Please join me in supporting Mike. It will be a tough campaign and he will need our help. Send him a contribution. Volunteer. Ask for a yard sign. We need Mike on Council. - Mary Hathaway
We can always count on Mike for support for all issues that make our neighborhoods and downtown more livable, walkable, bikeable, and environmentally sustainable. - Kelly and Matt Grocoff, Old West Side
I am pleased to endorse Mike Anglin for City Council As a member of the Golf Advisory Task Force and a resident of Ward 5, I have come to know Mike and I have a deep regard for his commitment to open government and to keeping his constituents and all the voters of Ann Arbor fully informed on all the public issues. Mike as a part of PAC and as a Councilman, is deeply invested in all our parks, He has closely followed the issues surrounding saving the open spaces of Huron Hills and fully supports keeping our parks for the people and not turned into commercial ventures. In this day of tight budgets and challenges Mike wants to ensure that all the issues and the deals proposed for our parks and our downtown spaces are upfront and open and clear to the public. Mike listens and then acts in the best interests of the voters and the taxpayers.- Paul Bancel
Mike is there for you. He'll listen to what you say and help you in any way he can when you want to deal with the city government. Mike keeps an active presence on the Council and works hard to make Ann Arbor a better place to live. - Peter Zetlin
I give my unconditional endorsement to Mike Anglin. I have found Mike to be totally willing to listen to all sides of any topic. I have watched him separate his personal feeling and vote for what he feels best for his constituents and the City of Ann Arbor. This is a truly rare quality in a candidate at any level of government and as such he deserves your support in his re-election. - Stewart Nelson Nearly every City Council candidate claims they support strong neighborhoods, but few back up those campaign words with actions. Most in fact, at least in recent years, have done the opposite. Mike Anglin, on the other hand, has been a strong, consistent voice on City Council for preserving and strengthening Ann Arbor's treasured neighborhoods. When our neighborhood was faced with one inappropriate development proposal after another, Mike stood up to the developers and their friends on Council and stopped them. Without Mike and our other allies on Council, our neighborhood would now be facing the wrecking ball on both ends of Fifth Avenue. Mike understands that the Master Plan is there to document and protect what "we the people" value most about our City: strong traditional neighborhoods with trees and parks, a downtown that is carefully nourished to keep it vital and attractive to residents and visitors alike, and most of all, our sense of place as a historic midwestern college town.
Mike Anglin once again has our votes, and our financial support for his re-election as Council Member from the Fifth Ward in 2011. We hope you will join us. - Tom and Susan Whitaker
Mike Anglin CARES. He listens to his constituents! - Anna Schnitzer
Mike has shown a knowledge and commitment to maintaining Ann Arbor's
special qualities by supporting the parks, trees and the
neighborhoods. I fully endorse Mike Anglin for Fifth Ward Council - Karen and Al Gallup
Polly and I enthusiastically endorse you for city council and for your efforts for a sustainable Ann Arbor community. - Polly and Alan Connor

- John Haines
Mike listens!
- Helen O'Connor
Mike is the kind of council member we need: one who listens to his constituents. Every time I have called Mike with a problem, he has jumped in to handle it. He once told Roger Fraser that power in this city flows from the people to the council to the administration and not the other way around. I am thrilled he is willing to serve us again.
- Cendra Lynn
Mike Anglin is dedicated to the job of representing his ward. He works hard at gathering facts and understanding the issues, and he communicates with his constituents to keep them informed about what's happening in the city.
- Sonia Schmerl
Mike Anglin is a council member that you can call. He will talk to you and even more important he will listen.
- Libby Hunter I would like to endorse Mike Anglin for City Council in the fifth ward. I would also like to encourage members of the rowing community to vote and share their support for Mike. Mike has been a consistent voice in favor of our city parks and recreation department. During talk of Dam removal on Argo pond, Mike was steadfast in his support for the preservation of water for use by fishermen, rowers, canoeists and kayakers. Mike has also worked for the preservation of Huron Hills, against opposition from local developers seeking to profit off of land set aside for public use. As a former Rowing coach and an outdoor enthusiast, I can say with confidence that Mike shares our vision for city parks. Mike has proven himself to be a sensible and fair member of city council, he takes the time to listen and research issues before making a decision. He is well known in his neighborhood as being attentive and conscientious in listening to people´s problems. I have known Mike for 15 years, and in that time I have been able to see many facets of his positive impact on the community. Mike´s temperament among his constituents is gregarious and easy going. You may recognize Mike as an active member in Kiwanis.
With Mike on the council, we are fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented person dedicating their time and resources to making Ann Arbor a great place to live, work and learn.
- Peter Woodman
I an happy to endorse you for council. We are very fortunate to have you represent us.
- Shirler Zempel
Mike Anglin has a strong record for representing Ann Arbor's citizens. He is responsive, and he understands how decisions city council makes impact taxpayers. It is so important that we keep him on city council, so he can make sure that fiscally responsible decisions are made.
- Karen and Kevin Larson Mike Anglin's votes show that he listens to, understands, and acts to support the best interests of his constituents in the Fifth Ward, and those of the city as a whole. He listens to our concerns and sticks to the priorities that support our public safety, health, and the city's budget, even when it means voting against the majority on Council. He opposed major construction projects including the City Hall addition, the underground parking lot. I respect his integrity for pointing out that alternative and less costly approaches could have been used in place of these and other expensive projects. Mike strongly supports our park system and is working to oppose repurposing park land.
His actions support Ann Arbor as a whole. We are fortunate that he is our incumbent candidate, and I urge Fifth Ward voters to vote for Mike Anglin on August 2.
